London Broncos fell to just their second home defeat of the season as they lost out 40-32 at home to Featherstone Rovers on Sunday.

Andrew Henderson's men made the ideal start as Jamie Thackray went over as early as the third minuted, Wes Naiqama converting.

And the home side's advantage was doubled as Daniel Harrison crossed and Naiqama again dissected the posts.

However, Rovers hit back in ruthless fashion and scored three unanswered tries before half-time via Ben Blackmore, Ty Hitchcox and Andy Bostock to take a 16-12 lead.

It remained one-way traffic after the restart as Rovers' Jamie Cording, Luke Teasdale and Nathan Chappell all crossed the whitewash for the west Yorkshire side.

But the Broncos hauled themselves back into the contest and tries from Rhys Williams, Ben Hellewell and Jarrod Sammut maintained the intrigue.

Jack Bussey eventually took the game away from the hosts before a second try from Harrison late on completed the scoring.

Defeat leaves the Broncos in seventh place in the Championship standings ahead of their next fixture, the Summer Bash clash with Sheffield Eagles at Blackpool FC's Bloomfield Road Stadium on Saturday, May 23.

  • Meanwhile, on-loan hooker Brad Dwyer has been recalled by parent club Warrington Wolves for the next four weeks.

The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan from the Super League side.
