London Bees head coach Julian Broomes felt his side’s performance in the 2-1 defeat at Oxford United Women on Sunday was their most complete yet but knows they must start winning soon.

Despite being held up in traffic on their way to the ground, forcing a delayed kick-off of 30 minutes, the Bees were only narrowly beaten by a Kayleigh Hines free-kick and a Sophie Harris own goal.

Gemma Fraser pulled one back for the vastly-improved Bees in the second half but they could not find a precious equaliser and are still searching for their first win of the Women’s Super League 2 season.

"It was probably our most complete performance so far," Broomes told the club website.

He added: "We will keep pressing on and go up to Aston Villa and I think that we will put on a good performance. The performances are only getting better, they are not getting worse - so it is just a case of finding another one of those performances and using it to dig out a win against one of those teams around us.

The Bees travel to Aston Villa Ladies on Sunday.
