Captain Andy Yiadom is suspended for Barnet’s game against Mansfield Town on Saturday whilst Bira Dembele could come back into contention following injury.

Right-back Yiadom was booked for the fifth time this season in Tuesday’s 4-2 defeat at Notts County. He will sit out the visit of the Stags before being available for next weekend’s FA Cup second round tie against Newport County.

That leaves Bees head coach Martin Allen with a decision to make at right-back. Summer signing Gavin Hoyte, who was transfer listed last month, was recalled at centre-back in midweek and could be moved to his natural position at right-back.

Other options include Brentford loanee Josh Clarke, who has thrived as a right winger since making his debut at full-back, and 17-year-old Academy prospect Hakeem Odoffin. The former Reading youngster has been an unused substitute twice already this season.

At the heart of the Bees’ defence, Dembele has missed the last four after coming off with a knee injury in victory over Exeter City at the end of last month.

Speaking on Tuesday, Allen revealed the French defender could be in contention to face the Stags.

“Bira Dembele had an injection on Monday evening and he’s got to rest that now for three days and we’ll see how he is in the middle of next week,” said Allen.

Meanwhile, striker Kevin Lisbie played in a Development Team friendly on Tuesday as the first team travelled to Nottingham but is still not ready to make his comeback from a hamstring problem which has plagued him since pre-season.

Allen said: “He was much sharper. He’s not ready for the first team yet but he’s done much better in his fitness levels and match levels. So probably in a couple of weeks he’ll be back available to us.”

Goalkeeper Graham Stack (groin) is a long-term absentee.

Mansfield, who arrive at The Hive having won just one of their last seven in league and cup, have four absentees.

Defenders Nicky Hunt (hamstring), Corbin Shires (knee), Malvind Benning (knee) and forward Chris Beardsley (shin) will all miss out.

The Stags have not won at Barnet since April 1998 when a Steve Whitehall penalty secured all three points after John Doolan was dismissed for the Bees. That is Mansfield’s only win at Barnet in 11 games at Underhill.
