Prop Rhys Gill will leave Saracens at the end of the current campaign to re-join Cardiff Blues.

The 29-year-old Welsh international joined the Men in Black in 2009 and has made more than 150 appearances for the club since, twice winning the Premiership.

But this will be Gill’s last season at Allianz Park before returning to Wales for the 2016/17 campaign.

He told the club’s website: "I've had a great time at Saracens; it's a brilliant club and I've loved the atmosphere and environment.

"We've had some success and I want to play a big role the rest of this season.”

Director of rugby Mark McCall added: “Rhys has been a fine servant to Saracens.

“At the age of 29 he wants to return to his home country with his young family and he will leave with the best wishes of everyone at the club.

“He still has a big part to play before he leaves at the end of the season.”
