Barnet's Andrew "Beef" Johnston enjoyed a superb first round of The Open at Royal Troon on Thursday.
Participating in his second Open, Johnston managed a round of 69 to leave him two under par, with one round remaining before the cut on Friday.
After scoring par on the opening three holes, "Beef" looked in trouble as double bogeyed the par-five fourth hole, but a birdie on the sixth left him one over after the front nine.
Going into the trickier second half of the course, which was more open to the elements in western Scotland, be begun with a pair of birdies to drop below par for the first time in the round.
Despite another bogey on the 14th hole, another two birdies ensured a superb opening day for the North Middlesex Golf Club member.
