Barnet have been drawn with Championship side Norwich, as well as Peterborough and MK Dons in the opening round of this year's English Football League Trophy.
The Bees will face each team in their group once, and begin their campaign with an away tie at MK Dons during the week of August 29.
They will then host Norwich City's Under-23 team, most likely on October 4, and finish their group campaign at home to Peterborough on November 8.
The top two teams will then progress to the 32-team knock-out stage, when it reverts to the traditional knock-out format.
The trophy has been revamped for this season to include 16 category one youth sides, while in another unusual turn, there will be no conventional draws in the group stages.
If scores are level after 90 minutes a match will go to penalties, with the eventual winner picking up two points, and the loser awarded one.
