A Hendon pool team will look to complete the the league and cup double once again this year.

The Arena Killers have already sealed the New Barnet District and Barnet League title.

Tomorrow evening they will look to add the Chas Angel Cup to their armoury in a repeat performance of last season.

With the Finchley and Barnet Pool League, which is played on a Tuesday evening, also almost within their grasp, the team will display a strong side at the Arena Sports Bar.

Thursday team Captain Praful Varsani said: “It was great to win the league again as we won it last year.

“We won the double so we are looking to so the same again.

“We are up against the Hickson Angels, we played them last year in the final, so it will be good to see them once again.”

With so much success already coming their way, when asked if winning the league gave them that added boost Varsani said: “Of course. No one has won the league back-to-back before.

“And no one has done the double-double before so we are nervous about it - but we are excited as well.

“The team we are playing in the final is a strong side and we also pipped Hickson to the league.”

Having two teams merged together for the trophy can only mean a good thing for Arena.

Players from Tuesday and Thursday teams will know what it takes to have that winning instinct and go all the way.

“We have just been practicing,” said Varsani.

“We play on a Tuesday so we are hoping to win quite a lot this season.

“As the captain for the final I decided to mix the players.

“This was to make it the best team it can be so we can win the whole event.”

The final begins at 8:30pm in Hendon.
