Hendon put the disappointment of throwing a two-goal lead away at Folkestone Victoria to cruise past Staines Town and into second in the Bostik Premier League with a 3-0 win at Silver Jubilee Park last night.
Gerry McCann’s side needed time to grow into the midweek encounter but once they did, never looked back and in-form Niko Muir put them ahead with a 20-yard finish.
Muir had grabbed both Hendon’s goals in their eventual 3-2 loss at Folkestone on Saturday, and would later get his 10th league strike of the campaign following the kind of confident build-up which comes from Hendon’s current run of form.
Before that, though, Zak Joseph had put the game to bed 12 minutes from time following a few nervy moments as Staines looked to mount a comeback.
The Greens will next host winless Tooting and Mitcham on Saturday.
