The short trip to Enfield Town was not a happy one for Hendon last night as they could not find an answer to Sam Youngs' 11th-minute opener.

The visitors, on a run of four wins from five, fell behind early on following a rare defensive slip.

But they could not break down a stubborn home defence to draw a blank for the first time since the opening day of the season - and having netted 12 goals in their past five games.

Former Football League stalwart Darren Purse, alongside Mario Noto in defence, defended stoutly, but were aided by a toothless attacking effort from the Greens.

Hendon remain in second place in the league thanks to results elsewhere, but face their toughest test of the season on Saturday as they travel to league leaders Billericay Town.
