Chris Wyles wants to end his Saracens career on a high after scoring in his last home game at the weekend.

His try helped Sarries to a 57-33 victory over Wasps in the Aviva Premiership semi-final at Allianz Park as they reached their fourth Premiership final in five years.

In a day of records, Wyles scored a fifth semi-final try in eight years, while Owen Farrell also kicked 27 points, amassing almost a third of the game’s record 90-point total.

This should leave them feeling confident as they head to Twickenham on Saturday to face Exeter Chiefs, and former USA international Wyles is keen to end his time at Sarries on a high.

“I’m just really excited about next week and I’m not trying to think whether it was my last game or not,” he said.

“It was nice to get a try in the corner. I was giving it the big one before the game, saying I was going to grab a pint, but it was too early in the game!

“I was hoping to grab one later, jumped over and had one!

“It was a great feeling overall in the game. Defensively, we let ourselves down at times, but they’re an extremely good attacking team, especially on that pitch.

“There are things to look at defensively, but the atmosphere we created amongst the squad, the vibe and the emotion we put into the game was awesome and I think we need to draw on that next week.

“We’ve had awesome support for the Wolfpack bus, awesome support in the stadium, the atmosphere was awesome and hopefully we can repay the fans with a trophy.”

Sarries will meet champions Exeter, who they beat in the final two years ago, but lost to in last year’s semi-final, at Twickenham next Saturday, following the Devon side’s victory over Newcastle.
