Barnet boss John Still has raided former club Dagenham and Redbridge for Mark Cousins and Craig Robson, with the duo both signing two-year deals at the Hive.

Experienced goalkeeper Cousins will link up with Barnet from July when his contract expires with the Daggers, where he was named as the club’s Player-of-the-Season last campaign having kept 11 clean sheets in 46 appearances.

Having come through the ranks at Fulham, Cousins joined Colchester at a young age, where he would make 58 appearances in all competitions before switching to Dagenham in 2014.

After joining the Daggers, Cousins swiftly established himself as the club’s first choice goalkeeper making over 120 appearances in all competitions for the side, with his form helping them to secure a 11th place finish in the National League last season.

Barnet manager Still was delighted to secure Cousins’ signature and told the club’s website: "Mark was outstanding at Dagenham, he worked hard to get his opportunity in the starting line-up and when he got there, his performances were top-drawer and he quite rightly got awarded Player of the Year.

"His contract was up and I'm very glad he's joined Barnet over others. We have a great working relationship and he is not only a good player but a good person as well."

Cousins will be joined at the Hive by former Dagenham team-mate Robson, with the defender moving to the Bees after three seasons with the Daggers.

Robson, who can play in either defence or midfield, captained the National League side last season and was a virtual ever present, scoring three goals in 44 appearances.

Still is familiar with the 26-year-old having brought him to the East London club in 2016 after an impressive spell with Bognor Regis Town, where he scored 17 goals in 159 starts, helping the Rocks keep 45 clean sheets in the process.

Robson came through the ranks at Southampton as a youngster and after a short stint with Havant and Waterlooville, enjoyed time out in Australia with Sorrento.

Speaking to Barnet’s website, the 26-year-old said: “"It was quite a long process but thankfully it's all done now and I can get ready for the season to start.

"(Still) was a big part of moving here, he rung me up and asked would I like to come and I was fully on board.”

Elsewhere, the Bees have confirmed that defender Charlie Clough has left the club by mutual consent.

Clough, whose contract was due to expire at the Hive this summer, joined Barnet from Forest Green Rovers in January 2017 and made 59 appearances in all competitions, scoring once against Blackpool.

The 27-year-old was a regular last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, but couldn’t prevent the Bees from being relegated from League Two on the final day of the season.
