Finchley lost ground on the leaders in Middlesex County League Division One on Saturday.
They went down by 80 runs against 2007 champions Ealing.
Finchley were bowled out for 180 in 52 overs, in reply to Ealing's 260 in 59 overs.
Brondesbury remain in fourth place, one place below Finchley, after gaining four points from a draw with Eastcote.
Bron made 247-6 from 60 overs, with Eastcote finishing on 235-9 from their allotted overs.
Ben Claypole continued his fine form with 127 not out.
Stanmore gained a much-needed win against Teddington.
They bowled out their opponents for 230 in the 61st over, after posting a total of 264-7 from 65 overs.
It was only Stanmore's second league win of the season and eases their relegation fears a little.
* Home Counties Premier League Division Two East leaders Potters Bar had to settle for a draw against Harpenden on Saturday.
Potters Bar made a massive 318-8 in their 60 overs, but Harpenden held out on 280-6.
