Barnet topped their group in the London Youth Games badminton qualifiers and will be one of eight boroughs fighting it out to be champions this weekend.
Barnet’s mixed team qualified from a group containing Camden, Lambeth and Newham. The full squad was Andre Donko, Rory Kitchen, Dylan Ramesh, Ronak Shah, Charlotte Musker, Shauna Chambers, Depica Stephens, Piers Tong and Sophy Izzo.
Commenting on the borough’s success, Barnet team manager Norbert Soans said: “The team played extremely well and I am pleased with all of them. I think they’ll go far in the finals this weekend.”
Barnet player Andre Donko added: “We gave a good, solid performance and every member of the team played well and supported everyone else.”
Barnet will be represented in a variety of sports at the London Youth Games, which take place at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
