Old Fold Manor GC's Steph McEvoy won the Herts Junior Championship at Aldenham Golf Club. McEvoy triumphed with a gross 75 and was crowned the Hertfordshire junior champion 2009.
She also played her part for the county in an East region match at Stockbrook Manor Golf Club, near Billericay. Hertfordshire started the week with a very tough match against home county Essex. A previously untried combination of Tina Jeary and McEvoy (who had won her club championship the day before) gave Herts a two-one lead going into lunch, with McEvoy sinking a tricky four-feet putt on the 17 hole to win the match. Herts went on to win the competition.
