Barnet saw off League One Millwall to progress to the second round of the JP Trophy.
Jake Hyde and Ismail Yakubu struck in either half to tame the Lions.
This was the first ever meeting between these two sides and they produced a reasonable cup tie that might have gone either way, the final scoreline perhaps a little flattering towards the hosts.
Certainly Millwall will feel unlucky to have gone in at the break a goal down, after playing some delightful one-touch football.
But the home side came out far more determined in the second half, and got a second goal to finish off their South London visitors.
Barnet manager Ian Hendon made a number of changes from the side that saw off Notts County on Saturday. Jake Hyde, who hit the winner against the Magpies, started in place of the rested Paul Furlong.
In midfield, Nicky Deverdics came in for Micah Hyde, while Yannick Bolasie replaced Albert Jarrett.
There were two changes in defence, Clovis Kamdjo and Joe Devera taking the places of Daniel Leach and Ryan O'Neill.
Barnet took just two minutes to strike and that man Hyde carried on where he left off on Saturday, touching home a low, driven cross from Albert Adomah from just two yards. It was fine play from Adomah, whose blistering pace allowed him to get to the byline.
MIllwall might have equalised immediately, Kamdjo hooking a Jason Price header off the line after his initial error had created an opening for the Lions.
Another Kamdjo mis-kick set up Price again, but the striker drove into the side netting.
MIllwall were now on top and Gary Alexander was just over with a far-post header on 18 minutes.
Price came even closer midway through the half after being threaded in by Jack Smith, his shot beating Jake Cole and rattling the bar.
The Bees were under the cosh for most of the half, but, despite their dominance, the visitors could not find an equaliser.
Barnet started the second half brighter and Adomah tested John O'Sullivan with a low effort, which the keeper was equal to.
Adomah was the chief Barnet danger, his pace and trickery giving the visiting defence much to contend with.
On 56 minutes, the winger was just wide with a cross-cum-shot that beat everyone.
At the other end, Cole just about held on to an Alexander drive that was hit straight at him.
The second goal arrived 20 minutes into the second half, Ismail Yakubu heading home from close range after an Adomah corner had been nodded back across goal by Kamdjo.
Barnet were now well on top, the Lions losing their way after the crucial second.
In the end, the hosts cruised home, Millwall having long accepted their fate.
