High-flying Barnet cruised to another three points against a poor Grimsby at Underhill this afternoon.
The Bees were always in control and the result was never in doubt.
For the second game running, the points were virtually in the bag by half-time, a John O'Flynn penalty and an Albert Adomah volley giving the hosts a two-goal advantage.
Yannick Bolasie cracked home a stunning third goal after the interval to put the icing on the cake.
The hosts, who were unchanged, had the first shot, Bolasie shrugging off Paul Linwood to fire in at Nick Colgan's near post, but it was a routine save for the keeper.
Just ten minutes had gone when Bolasie got the better of Linwood again, but, as he raced towards goal, the defender stuck out a leg to bring him down. O'Flynn stepped up to the spot for the second time in two games to give Barnet the lead, his fourth goal of the season.
It was two just five minutes later. O'Flynn's free-kick was straight at the wall, but the ball bounced up invitingly for Adomah on the edge of the area and he hit it on the full volley. The ball took a deflection off a Grimsby defender, before finding the net via the post.
It was all Barnet and Bolasie should have made it three. He was set clear on goal, only for Colgan to come out quickly to make the block.
It was a blistering spell for the Bees, one which left the visitors somewhat shellshocked.
The Mariners did manage to steady the boat, but the home side were still doing all the pressing.
And there were calls for a second penalty on the half-hour when Paul Furlong looked to be wrestled to the ground, though nothing was given on this occasion.
Though the home side went off the boil towards the end of the first half, it was still a more than satisfactory opening 45 minutes for the Bees, and Grimsby were relieved to hear the half-time whistle.
Grimsby forced a couple of corners at the start of the second period, Adam Proudlock seeing Jake Cole block a close-range effort, while Adomah drove wide for the Bees at the other end.
Midway through the second half, which had started so meekly, Bolasie thumped in a third for the hosts, and what a goal it was. There looked little danger 25 yards out, but the winger let fly with a belter that keeper Colgan had little chance of stopping, such was the ferocity of the shot.
Grimsby were now a beaten side, if they were not already.
However, they almost pulled one back ten minutes from time when Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro saw a clearance hit him in the chest and head towards goal, though Cole was on his toes and made the save.
Grimsby's misery was complete when sub Barry Conlon received a straight red card for what was judged to be an elbow on Kenny Gillet, but the game was all but over by then anyway.
Barnet sub Clovis Kamdjo even tried his luck in the closing stages, but Colgan saved his long-range drive.
