Accrington Stanley 2 Barnet 2

Striker John O'Flynn earned Barnet a replay with a stoppage-time equaliser from the spot.

The Bees looked to be going out of the cup until sub Jake Hyde was hauled back in the box at the death.

And O'Flynn kept his cool to save his side from a seventh away defeat on the trot.

The replay will be at Underhill on Tuesday week.

Manager Ian Hendon named an unchanged team, giving those that under-performed in the 5-1 thrashing at Cheltenham on Tuesday the chance to make amends.

However, loan signings Dean Sinclair and Calum Butcher were on the bench.

Accrington had the first effort, keeper Jake Cole turning over a Michael Symes effort after the striker had cut inside.

The same player should have done better at the near post soon after, but directed his header well wide.

The hosts almost struck on 20 minutes, Robert Grant glancing a header inches wide after connecting to a delightful Sean McConville centre.

The Bees were slow to get into their stride, offering little in the way of attack in the first half.

And Accrington finally made the breakthrough on the half-hour, Grant meeting a fine Symes cross at the near post to loop the ball over Cole and in off the far post.

However, the home side were stunned when John Miles received a straight red card for a late challenge on Ismail Yakubu just seven minutes later, offering the visitors a ray of light for the second half.

And they needed something. It was not until first-half stoppage time that Barnet had even a shot, Albert Jarrett cracking an effort from distance just wide.

But the equaliser was not long in coming. Less than two minutes of the second period had gone when Jarrett crossed deep for Ismail Yakubu to head home at the far post.

With an extra man, the Bees were now in the driving seat.

But Stanley stunned the visitors with another goal just a few minutes later, Symes taking a long ball over the top in his stride and placing it into the corner past the diving Cole.

And they should have had a third, Grant placing a header just wide soon after.

At last, both sides now knew they were in a cup tie.

Stanley were battling hard and it was difficult to tell which side had ten men.

Midway through the second half, Paul Furlong set up John O'Flynn but keeper Dean Bouzanis got down well to save his low shot.

At the other end, James Ryan drove just over.

With 15 minutes to go, the ball fell nicely for O'Flynn, but this time he failed to keep his effort down.

Hendon threw on striker Jake Hyde for defender Daniel Leach in the closing stages, the match slipping from the visitors.

There were appeals for a penalty when Albert Adomah was sent sprawling, but nothing was given.

The referee added six minutes of stoppage time and it was then when Jake Hyde was tugged back as he went for a ball into the box.

O'Flynn stepped up and scored, sending the keeper the wrong way.
