Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu held regional gradings for all the children’s evening classes (over 500 students) at The Furzefield Centre, Potters Bar, The Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, Bushey, and The Hertswood Centre, Borehamwood.

With 16 classes a week for the infant and junior groups, whose ages range from five to 13, it has been a hectic time.

They have been learning their new syllabus in preparation for their gradings since September.

The gradings were undertaken under the watchful eye of the federation’s national coach for children’s cevelopment, Renshi Mark Hayden-Smith (black belt 4th Dan) and club coach, Sensei Andy Tierney (black belt 1st Dan).

The gradings were a huge success and presentations were made to all the successful candidates by way of a certificate of grade, signed and sealed by both the federation’s founder and chief instructor Professor Kevin Pell (black belt 9th Dan) and Sensei Andy Tierney (black belt 1st Dan).

New classes have now started, with the next gradings in March. New starters are always welcome. For more information contact the national headquarters on 01953 483795 or go to www.ishinryu.com
