Barnet Elizabethans saw off local rivals Old Ashmoleans 7-0 in London Division Three North West on Saturday.
A last-minute penalty try gave Barnet the narrow but deserved victory. Glyn Bayley then added the conversion.
Both teams had a few chances but were equally guilty of failing to take advantage. Barnet's Tom Dale had a great game in defence.
Barnet host Datchworth this Saturday (3pm). The opposition are in fourth place, just two points behind the Elizabethans, so the game might decide third place with just two more matches remaining.
Meanwhile, the proposed friendly between Mill Hill and Hendon was cancelled.
Hendon host Old Grammarians this Saturday.
