Barnet found Swansea City too strong at the Liberty Stadium last night.
It was perhaps no surprise.
It has to be remembered that the Swans came close to promotion into the Premier League last season.
The hosts were in control from the off and should have taken the lead on 19 minutes, when Sam Cox was judged to have brought down Cedric Van der Gun.
But Shefki Kuqi blasted his penalty against the underside of the bar. Kerry Morgan then struck the woodwork soon after.
However, the opener was not long in coming, van der Gun heading home midway through the half.
Swansea always looked in control, but the Bees were not out of it until 20 minutes from time, when sub Darren Pratley doubled the advantage.
Kuqi then made amends for his penalty miss with a late third.
Barnet boss Mark Stimson made a couple of changes from the side that lost to Chesterfield on Saturday. Up front, Ricky Holmes came in for the injured Steve Kabba, while Mark Hughes replaced Rossi Jarvis in mifield.
At the back, Sam Cox and Darren Dennehy were replacements for Jordan Parkes and Joe Devera.
A crowd of 6,644 watched the game.
