BEES boss Mark Stimson has revealed he will try to keep hold of on-loan striker Phil Walsh, who is set to return to parent club Dagenham & Redbridge at the end of this week.
Walsh played an instrumental role in steering Barnet to their first win of the season against Cheltenham on Saturday, scoring twice either side of the break in the 3-1 victory.
However, he is due to return to Victoria Road after this weekend's game with Lincoln City, having spent a month with the Underhill outfit.
His importance to the Bees was underlined with his impressive display on Saturday, and Stimson admitted extending Walsh's loan was something he was keen to explore.
He may have his work cut out, though, as the Daggers are operating with just three recognised strikers at present, following Paul Benson's transfer to Charlton Athletic last week.
“Phil has done really well for us. He's got on the end of a couple of things which makes it even more enjoyable to watch,” said Stimson.
“We’ll have to see what happens. I know Daggers have just lost their big striker.
“We just have to enjoy him, make him feel as comfortable as we can at the club, then something could be done, but that’s in the future.”
