Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez says that Tommy Fraser is in “limbo” after the midfielder mutually agreed to cancel his Bees contract only to see the club he was going to join withdraw their offer.

Fraser last appeared for Barnet in the 4-0 loss away at Swindon Town and it was believed he wanted to move on in search of regular first team football.

Sanchez confirmed that Barnet had come to an agreement with the 24-year-old to leave but while the Bees were sorting out a settlement deal the unnamed club he was set to join pulled out of a move.

The Bees’ boss said: “Tommy is in limbo at the moment because he has an offer from us to go but on the other hand he now has nowhere to go to.

“Like all people that have got a guaranteed income it is probably easier to stay at the club.

“It is not the best thing because having made the decision to go it is hard to then say I’m going to stay.”

Fraser is still registered with Barnet and Sanchez said if he is needs to put him in the team or on the bench he will.

He added: “It is a hard situation to do good work when you have made your mid up to leave. But It is a something that needs to be resolved quickly.”
