Barnet are set to offer top scorer Izale McLeod ‘one of the best contracts in Barnet's history’ to keep him at Underhill beyond this season.
McLeod's contract expires in the summer and despite reported interest in the striker during the January transfer window he remained with Barnet.
The Bees’ front man currently leads the League Two scoring charts with 16 goals in 26 games.
Since joining Barnet in November 2010 the 27-year-old had netted a total of 34 goals in all competitions – a stat that’s even more impressive when you consider the Bees have struggled during the majority of his time at the club.
Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez told the club’s official website: "His goals per games record is outstanding."
"I said earlier in the season that getting 30 goals was a suitable target for him and he is on course to achieve that feat.
"We are looking to reward him with one of the best contracts in Barnet's history - a new deal to note his achievements and his loyalty to the club".
