Barnet go into tonight’s JPT southern area final second leg against Swindon Town knowing a win books their place at a Wembley final.

The first leg at Underhill ended 1-1. A Mark Hughes header cancelled out the opener from Aden Flint meaning there is all to play for this evening.

The form guide doesn’t separate the two sides. Since the first leg they have both played three league matches and have both won all three, scoring the same amount of goals.

With wintery conditions affecting League Two fixtures over the weekend neither side played their scheduled matches.

It has given the Bees nine days to prepare for the game as opposed to the Robins who only had six after taking on Southend United last Tuesday.

Barnet forward Ricky Holmes is looking forward to the contest and knows the Bees will be doing all they can to get to Wembley.

“Hopefully we can do it because it is now just about that one game. It is winner takes all so we are going to give it a good go and hopefully we can come away winners.

“Personally it is a boyhood dream to play at Wembley. Any footballer, especially one that plays in England, wants to play there in their career.”

Michael Hector is also excited at the prospect of playing at England’s national stadium.

He said: “Getting to Wembley is something everyone is buzzing about because we all go past it because as it is near the training ground.

“So it is crazy that we could be 90 minutes, or however long it takes on, away from playing there.”

Barnet go into the fixture with no new injury concerns. Danny Senda is expected to miss the rest of the season after dislocating his knee cap in the first leg while Mark Marshall is suspended after failing a drug test.

Jack Saville could make his first start as an official Barnet player after turning his loan move into a permanent one. Jordan Obita will also be in contention for a start after his impressive cameo against Crewe Alexandra.

Mark Byrne did not feature in the first leg but has reclaimed his spot in the first team following Marshall’s suspension.

He is expecting Barnet to do everything in their power to defeat Swindon and make it to Wembley.

“I have never played at Wembley before and it is one of those things that every player wants to do during their career.

“We are all going to be doing our hardest and give everything we can to win and and then hopefully enjoy a great day at Wembley.”
