Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has praised the contribution of their players in England's encouraging start to the Six Nations.

Owen Farrell and Charlie Hodgson have scored all of their country's points in their tight victories in Scotland and Italy.

David Strettle, Mouritz Botha and Brad Barritt have also started both matches while Matt Stevens has featured from the bench.

Speaking after Sarries' win over London Wasps, McCall said: "I think England have had two great wins in difficult circumstances. I think Italy was particularly difficult for them with the weather the way it was and obviously conceding the tries before half time.

"They played really well in the last 30 minutes. I think our players have been to the fore. I would say that wouldn't I but I think they have been.

"I thought Mouritz Botha has been great in both games. Charlie has controlled things well. Owen, as we know has been magnificent. He's stepped up to the plate and his temperament been good, his goal kicking's been good but he actually passed the ball well in Italy.

"Brad has defended magnificently across the gainline and I left out [haven't mentioned] Strets. They have all been good and we're chuffed for the players and hopefully we can get more into the team.

"Whilst they are away the players who played here will keep the flag flying."
