Barnet boss Mark Robson believes former Dagenham & Redbridge striker Jon Nurse will be a “valuable acquisition” for the Bees.

He was released by the Daggers earlier this summer but put pen to paper on a deal at Underhill last week.

Nurse was handed a starting berth alongside Ricky Holmes in the Bees weekend 10-2 pre-season victory against St Albans.

He managed to grab two goals on his first outing in a Barnet shirt and Robson believes he will be a good influence on and off the pitch.

“First and foremost, Jon is a terrific lad. He is someone who will be good to have in and around the dressing room with the players.

“He of course has experience and has scored goals. It was only a couple of seasons ago in League One that he scored ten.

“So he is a good player and is going to be a real valuable acquisition for us.”

Great acquisitions. Looks like a positive attacking focus for the future. C'mon Barnet!
