Stanmore downed by Teddington in Middlesex County Cricket League Division One

Stanmore suffered a 49-run defeat against Teddington in Middlesex County Cricket League Division One.

After winning the toss and deciding to bowl, the Stanmore bowlers began well as they dismissed opposition openers Max Page (two) and Nick Gubbins (13).

Number three Joe Austin (23) came in and steadied the Teddington innings and he was well supported by James Fear (29).

Marc Reingold was bowling well and Teddington were in trouble on 101 for eight.

However, the introduction of Charl Malan saw them add crucial runs as he crafted 35 runs off 75 deliveries. Teddington were eventually skittled 141 all out off 59 overs.

Reingold ended with five for 45 while Mukesh Bhatt took three for 37.

The Stanmore reply started solidly as opener Talha Azam hit a well constructed 37. But his fellow batsmen were unable to replicate his score.

Tim Percival (22) was the only other player to reach double figures for Stanmore in an innings which saw five batsmen depart without adding to the score.

They were bowled out for a disappointing 92 inside the 32nd over.

For Teddington David Keightley was the pick of the bowlers as he returned impressive figures of five for 21.
