There are certainly easier teams to kick off your season against but Barnet will be hoping to spring a surprise against Birmingham in the Capital One Cup tonight.

The campaign opener against the Blues will prove a stern test for Barnet and their two pre-season fixtures against Championship opposition the Bees conceded 12 goals and scored only one.

However, Robson is hoping the Bees can cause an upset at St Andrews.

“We are going to be up against a class side who have top quality players. It will be a great test for the boys and we are all looking forward to it.

“It will be great to put on a good show and you never know what can happen in this game. We will be going there full of confidence and trying to get a result.”
