5:00pm Wednesday 29th August 2012 in Sport
Stanmore remain in the relegation mix in Middlesex County Cricket League Division One after being held to a draw against Winchmore Hill.
After winning the toss and inserting their opponents, Stanmore found it difficult to take wickets at Hill eased to 84 for two. Scott Newman provided the majority of the early runs as he scored 69.
However, following his dismissal Hill struggled and only Josh Davey (50) added real value to a final total of 195 for seven.
Mukesh Bhatt and Marc Reingold both claimed three wickets apiece for Stanmore with Darshan Malde (one for 33) the other bowler to claim a wicket.
The Stanmore reply began strongly as openers Talha Azam (21) and Steve Mehra (39) built a solid platform for their innings.
Tom Cullen, in at number three, top scored with the bat with a well constructed 57. But the wickets then began to fall and the score moved from 94 for two to 133 for seven.
But Reingold (four not out) helped see Stanmore see out the contest and they ended on 141 for seven from 30 overs.
Hill’s Jamie Thorpe was in fine form with the ball as he ended with figures of six for 33.
