Barnet Copthall's James O'Shea finishes fourth in debut Paralympics final

James O’Shea was one place away from capping his first Paralympics swimming final with a medal this evening after finishing fourth in the 100m breaststroke SB5 event at the Aquatics Centre.

The Barnet Copthall qualified fifth fastest for the event this morning in a time of 1.39.88 but went more than a second quicker to record a season’s best of 1.38.30 in the event won by South Korean Lim Woo-Guen.

Despite not getting a medal, it is still a superb achievement by the 34-year-old, who lives in Berkhamsted, as he has only been competing for two seasons.
