Barnet v Rotherham United - Preview
Barnet welcome promotion hopefuls Rotherham United to Underhill tomorrow and Mark Robson will be hoping his side can finally get their first win of the season.
The Bees suffered a 1-0 defeat against Aldershot Town on Tuesday, a result which leaves them two points adrift at the bottom of the League Two table.
Andy Yiadom and Mark Byrne are unlikely to be available following injury and Robson will assess Barry Fuller and John Nurse after the suffered knocks against Aldershot.
Should Nurse not be fit, Robson could hand a first start to young striker George Sykes. The 18-year-old came on at half time against the Shots and the Bees boss stated he is a player who deserved a chance in the first team.
Robson said: “He is a young lad and I thought he did OK when he came on. He won a few headers and competed well.
“He is someone who is developing at the football club and I’m sure he will have a bright future ahead of him.
“But he deserved the chance, much like Jamal Lowe has, and he did well for us.”
The Millers, whose manager Steve Evans is currently serving a six-match stadium ban, suffered a 3-2 defeat against Rochdale on Tuesday night.
Robson is anticipating a physical test for his side but he is hopeful the Bees can finally get their first league victory.
He said: “I am expecting them to be strong, powerful and I think they are renowned for their physical presence. It will certainly be a tough game but the situation we are in at the moment they are all tough games.
“But we will approach it in the right way, prepare ourselves the best we can and hopefully we can get that first win,” the head coach added.
