Fleetwood Town v Barnet - Preview

Barnet fans making the long trip to Fleetwood Town tomorrow will hope the Bees can finally collect their first win of the season.

While Mark Robson's men remain rooted at the bottom of the League Two table, the nature of Barnet’s performance against Rotherham last time out will give optimism to the Bees faithful travelling to Highbury.

Robson admits the Trawlermen will provide a stern test for his side but is hopeful Barnet can built on their impressive display against the Millers.

He said: “Fleetwood, it’s safe to say, have spent a lot of money to bring players in and they are having a right go in the league.

“But I said to the boys in the dressing room at the end of the Rotherham game that their performance was one that you would expect from a team that are near the top of the league, not one that is bottom.

“So if they can sustain that type of performance then we can only be looking upwards because it has been a disappointing start for everybody and none more so than me. But we will get there.”

Barnet kept their first clean sheet of the season against Rotherham and ended a run of five straight defeats in League Two.

Centre-back David Stephens acknowledges it will be difficult for the Bees against the one of the favourites for promotions but believes Barnet can return with three points.

He said: “It will be tough. We know that they are pushing for promotion but then so are Rotherham and we put in a good performance against them.

“So what we need to do is to approach the game in the same manner and hopefully we can get that first win.”
