Finchley Racing Team enjoy success in Essex

Finchley Racing team finished off the 2012 road racing season in some style, by promoting a 25-mile "Grand Prix des Gentlemen" on a testing course near Maldon in Essex.

The race consisted of teams of two riders racing against the clock, one rider pacing the other for most of the distance.

Finchley's Trevor Burke was the 'gentleman' and past member Andy Hastings was the 'player', providing the horsepower for their emphatic win in a time of 52.49, well clear of the second team from Twenty 3C who were more than a minute behind.

The event was well supported, with more than 25 teams competing over two laps of a hilly circuit, in fine sunny conditions on largely traffic free roads.
