Director of rugby Mark McCall says he is satisfied with his team's start to the season after Saracens beat London Welsh 28-23 to move to within two points of the top of the table.
Despite question marks being raised about the Men in Black's style of play this campaign, McCall's side have registered one draw, one defeat and four wins from their opening six games.
Saracens now go into two weeks of European action as they take on Edinburgh and then Racing Metro and McCall is satisfied with his team's start in the league but admits there is room for improvement.
"We dominated for 65 minutes againt London Welsh and created chances we’ve got to start taking," McCall said.
“We need to start putting away those chances because it makes life difficult at the end of games.
"But we have rotated so we should be fresh going into the Heineken Cup. We are more or less where we wanted to be in the Premiership."
Hodgson scored all 28 points for Saracens, scoring their only try of the game and their first in three matches.
