Martin Allen will be without Sam Togwell and Andy Yiadom for Barnet’s visit from Torquay United on Tuesday night.

The duo were both given straight red cards in Saturday’s 3-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Wycombe Wanderers, and as a result, will now miss the Bees’ next three fixtures.

Oxford United loanee David Hunt looks likely to make his first start for the club, but whether he deputises for Yiadom or Togwell remains to be seen. Mauro Vilhete could come into the starting XI at full-back, if Elliott Johnson moves into midfield.

Captain Charlie MacDonald was withdrawn at half-time on Saturday, and Allen admitted afterwards the 33-year-old was withdrawn with one eye on Tuesday’s test.

Barnet currently sit nine points clear of second-placed Grimsby Town in the Conference standings, with the Mariners level on points with third-placed Gateshead.

Grimsby play host to fourth-place Halifax Town, whilst the Heed are at home to managerless Lincoln City.

The Gulls have slipped to 12th in the Conference standings following five defeats from their last six, but had preceded that sequence with six consecutive wins and a ten-game unbeaten run.

Chris Hargreaves – who played under Allen at Brentford – will be without defender Angus MacDonald, who suffered a knee injury in a County Challenge Cup defeat against Tiverton Town last week, whilst right-back Dale Tonge is a doubt.

New signing Durrell Berry, who has joined United from Devon rivals Plymouth Argyle in the last week, would be the player to deputise should Tonge miss out.

Former Scunthorpe United centre-back Krystian Pearce is expected to take the place of MacDonald at the heart of the defence.
