Barnet will hope to take advantage of the fact a number of the sides below them face one another as Aldershot Town visit The Hive this afternoon (3pm).

The Bees are currently seven points clear of second-placed Bristol Rovers at the Conference summit, with The Gas playing host to local rivals Torquay United, who are currently ninth.

In third, Macclesfield Town travel to Grimsby Town, who are just a place below in fourth. Fifth-placed Eastleigh host sixth-placed Woking in what could be a big day for the Conference promotion picture.

Having ruthlessly dispatched with The Shots on Boxing Day, triumphing 3-1 at The Recreation Ground despite not playing at their best, Barnet will host a side who ended their four-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory at local rivals Woking on Sunday.

The Bees extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 2-2 draw again Dover Athletic at The Hive. A draw against The Whites ensures Barnet are now on their second-longest unbeaten run since a six-match sequence through the end of August and beginning of September.

Head coach Martin Allen only has one injury concern, with player-coach Jon Nurse sidelined with a strained medial ligament.

Aldershot boss Andy Scott is likely to be without  defender Glenn Wilson (knee) once more, whilst Mark Phillips (hamstring) is definitely sidelined still.

Midfielder Damon Lathrope and forward Josh Scott are also long-term absentees, but goalkeeper Phil Smith returns from suspension after being sent off against The Bees at The Rec on Boxing Day.
