Charlie MacDonald's seventh goal of the season ensured Barnet began 2015 nine points clear of second-placed Bristol Rovers after beating Aldershot Town 1-0.
The Bees captain struck from close range after 19 minutes and the striker's goal proved the difference between the two sides in the end.
