Barnet boss Martin Allen says extending the loan of Watford's Bernard Mensah is "still something we are looking at", with the striker's deal ending today.

Mensah, 20, made three starts and eight substitute outings in all competitions for the Bees, scoring twice.

And after initially saying he would like to extend the Ghanaian's loan deal, Allen admitted the decision is not yet finalised.

He explained: "It is still something we are looking at. I have got to weigh up and look at our options right across the board and I have got a good few days to do it. It has been a very busy period for all of us.

"It gives me a chance now to see what else is available and see if we do need to strengthen."

Asked if the Hornets academy product would remain at The Hive until his future was sorted, Allen replied: "We will see.

"We will chat about that over the next few days with Bernard, Watford and his agent and of course my staff, and then we will go from there."

The striker this afternoon tweeted the following:

Mensah made one league start for the Bees after joining on loan in November and scored his only league goal in the 3-2 defeat against Torquay United five days after making the switch.

The Hounslow-born forward has previously impressed on loan at Braintree Town and made his full Watford debut as a substitute in November 2013.
