Barnet have yet to lose back-to-back Conference fixtures and goalkeeper Graham Stack denies it is the result of any concious decision, insisting Saturday's trip to Grimsby Town is no bigger than any other game.

Each of the Bees' six league defeats have come in isolation, with five of those losses followed by victories in the next fixture. But player-coach Stack does not believe that is the result of a collective effort to try harder than usual.

The 33-year-old mused: "It is not a conscious reaction to say, ‘Oh, we need to go and put more effort in because we have just come off the back of a loss’, that is just how we play and perform. We attack every game and put everything into every game.

"Sometimes things do not go for you and performances sometimes are not as high as we would like or expect but I think coming off the back of that loss it is going to give us more [incentive] to go and put things right."

The gloveman added: "The reaction is always important off the back of a loss. I do not think we have lost back-to-back games. I do not want to jinx us in any way but that has always been one positive; one strength we have had as a group."

With the Bees losing 4-1 at Lincoln City in their last Conference fixture and second-placed Bristol Rovers having lost just one of their last 23, Saturday's visit to Blundell Park has been billed as a game of great significance.

However Stack does not subscribe to that view point. He opined: "It is no bigger than any other game really. It just looks bigger because we are on the box and we are away from home against a team who are fourth in the table. It has got the makings of a big game but we are not going to treat it any different to any other game really.

"It is almost a cliché but there is not any easy game in this division, regardless. We went up to Telford and dropped points when they were at the foot of the table - everyone thought it was an absolute given.

"They (Grimsby) are a decent side but with the group we have got we do not fear going anywhere."
