Defender Gavin Hoyte missed Barnet's 2-1 defeat against Accrington Stanley on Saturday because he had been on international duty with Trinidad and Tobago the night before.
Bees head coach Martin Allen revealed the defender had agreed to miss the Soca Warriors' last international, a friendly against Mexico last month, which led to coach Stephen Hart claiming the club had bullied the defender.
But the former Arsenal youngster was granted permission to play for his country in a friendly against Panama on Friday morning instead.
The 25-year-old made his first start for the Caribbean nation as they triumphed 2-1 in Panama thanks to goals from Kenwyne Jones and Radanfah Abu Bakr.
Hoyte was replaced after 79 minutes by Aubrey David.

Asked after Saturday's defeat where the full-back had been, Allen said: "He got back from international duty this morning at six o'clock.
"He played on Thursday and flew on Friday so there was no way he could have taken part today. But he'll be available next week for sure."
