Barnet loanee Ben Tomlinson got just five minutes from the bench on Saturday as Tranmere Rovers beat Guiseley 2-1 in the National League.

The visitors went ahead after 24 minutes through Danny Boshell but were pegged back by a James Norwood goal on the stroke of half time.

Tomlinson entered the fray in place of former Bee Adam Mekki with five minutes remaining.

And with timing running out Norwood tucked away a 90th minute penalty after being fouled inside the penalty area.

In the Isthmian Premier Division, Shane Cojocarel got 11 minutes as a substitute in Billericay Town’s 1-1 draw at Burgess Hill Town.

Chris Smith put Burgess Hill ahead five minutes into the second half but, just two minutes later, Onome Sodje levelled for the Blues.

Young centre-back Joe Gater was unable to prevent Cheshunt falling to a 2-0 defeat at Cray Wanderers in Isthmian Division One North.

Goals in either half from Ben Hunt and Mike Frieter sealed the win for hosts Cray. Gater played the full 90 minutes.

And Gater’s central defensive partner for the Under-18s, Charlie Kennedy, played 90 minutes as Northwood lost 1-0 to Chalfont St Peter in the Southern League Division One Central.

Kennedy scored in victory over Hendon in the Middlesex Senior Cup last Monday but couldn’t prevent defeat in the league thanks to Craig Tomkins’ first half goal.

Chalfont brought former Bee Kofi Lockhart-Adams off the bench late on.
