Young defender Harry Taylor has been recalled from his loan spell at Staines Town to help ease Barnet’s central defensive crisis after Bondz N’Gala was injured at Newport County on Tuesday.

N’Gala has been involved in all bar one of Barnet’s League Two games this season but was withdrawn after 35 minutes of Tuesday’s win at Newport after tweaking his hamstring.

Bira Dembele is already out with a knee injury meaning Michael Nelson is the only senior centre-back at the club.

However, Alie Sesay, James Pearson and Tom Champion can all fill in alongside the former Norwich City man.

N’Gala will miss Saturday’s trip to York City but Allen is unsure how long the 26-year-old will be sidelined for.

However, boss Martin Allen has full confidence in the captain of last season’s title-winning Under-18 side, Harry Taylor.

“He did really well as a substitute at Stevenage. He’s been out playing senior men’s football again but it’s good to have him back,” Allen told the Times Series.

“We will keep doing as we have been doing. I think we had 12 senior players on Tuesday night with Sam Togwell [the only senior player] on the bench.

“Everyone else was under 20 years old. I suppose you could say it’s built camaraderie.”

Taylor has made two substitute appearances this season and made two starts in the FA Trophy last season.
