Curtis Weston and Bondz N’Gala will not be involved for Barnet at York City tomorrow but Michael Gash and Shaun Batt have travelled after injury.

The inclusion of strikers Gash and Batt means Matt Stevens and Nana Kyei have both been left at home to play for the Under-18s on Saturday morning.

Gash hasn't featured since the goalless draw at home to Carlisle United on January 16 due to a hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, Batt's last outing was a cameo from the bench against AFC Wimbledon at the end of last month when he was injured in a tackle shortly after coming on.

Vice-captain Weston is out with an abductor muscle injury while N’Gala was replaced after 35 minutes of the 3-0 win at Newport County on Tuesday after tweaking his hamstring.

Speaking to the club’s website, head coach Martin Allen said: “Bondz hasn’t actually injured his hamstring badly, but there’s a tweak and we must take care of that because he’s an important player.

“Once again Curtis has been on fantastic form for us recently and has been outstanding.

“But other people have come in and done the job. So it’s a positive that we’ve got enough good players to come into those places and it’s given opportunities to some young players as well.

“Shaun Batt has travelled this week, as has Michael Gash.

“Michael trained with Gary Waddock on Thursday and he’ll train again with Gary on Friday afternoon in York.

“Then he’ll train again on Saturday morning, and after the game too. So he’s going to get four sessions in those three days.

“He’ll be a sub, but I don’t think that we’ll actually be using him.”

The Bees are 20 points clear of the League Two drop zone with 11 games to play. And while Allen won’t be drawn on a positional target for the remainder of the season, he is keen to finish strongly.

“There’s 11 games to go and 33 points to play for. I don’t think we should just settle and say our season is over. We have to get as many points as we can,” he told the Times Series.

That starts at York City who need points for entirely different reasons. Jackie McNamara’s side sit second bottom and are five points shy of Hartlepool United who have three games in hand.

Does that make the Minstermen dangerous opposition as time runs out to secure their Football League status? Allen isn’t bothered.

“The only important think from my point of view is to get my team up to full speed.

"It doesn’t matter who we play, they are always hard games – they can all do it on their day.”

Asked if he would consider taking the handbrake off with Barnet’s League Two status as good as secure, Allen replied: “We played with a diamond last Saturday against Hartlepool United; got the ball down and played more passing football.

“It worked for 30 minutes then they got those two quick goals. There are 33 points to play for and we can see from the attitude of the players [they want to do as best they can].

“We will pick the best possible team this weekend. It would be full-on and let’s see how many points we can get between now and the end of the season.”
