Barnet will not be pushed into signing free agents to make up for the long-term losses of James Pearson and Michael Gash, head coach Martin Allen has insisted.

With the loss of the emergency loan window, which would normally open tomorrow until the third Thursday in November, the Bees can only add to their squad through permanent signings of unattached players before January 1 rolls around.

And while Allen admits the loss of the right-back and frontman are "the main disappointment" of the season to date, he will not be tempted to bring new faces into the club.

"I don't want any other players," he told the Barnet Times. "I have had a long chat with the chairman and we've got players on the periphery of the squad who might have been leaving, but we'll need now.

"We will give them a chance to show what they can do, and let's see how that turns out.

"Losing James Pearson and Michael Gash, both for a long time, has been the main disappointment of the season. That's been the big problem, without a shadow of a doubt."
