I know it won't help you shed the pounds that you piled on during the festivities, but I bet you're anxious to get out there and play more chess. Make 2008 the year your grade goes UP.... two events taking place this week for your entertainment.

Don't miss the regular 'First Thursday' of the month 10-minute Blitz tournament this Thursday, 3rd January. The tournament is hosted by Hendon Chess Club, (run by Malcolm this week), and is open to allcomers - we start at 7.30pm sharp, and there are 6 rounds of chess. We finish just before 10pm. THEN- The world-famous Golders Green Rapidplay (run by Adam Raoof), takes place this Saturday, 5th January 2008 at Golders Green Church Hall, West Heath Drive, London NW11 7QG from 10.30am.
