Ian Watson won at the Hog Hill circuit in the "Mariposa" veterans race to take a commanding overall lead in the five race series in the 'A' division.
Finchley Racing's Watson split the field at the halfway mark and then piled on the pressure to comfortably win.
Elsewhere, Vince Divine again bridged the gap to the leaders in the 90 mile Essex County race at Radwinter, only to be impeded by another rider crashing in front of him in the final sprint for the line, settling for tenth place. Surely Divine's run of bad luck must end soon and a big win is in the offing.
The weekend's bad news was the cancellation of the club's veterans race on Monday, due to flooding and emergency roadworks on the circuit making it far too dangerous for racing.
