Barnet Elizabethans end victory search with win over Imperial Medicals

After a poor start to the season, Barnet Elizabethans claimed their first victory in London Three North West after defeating Imperial Medicals 21-17.

Medicals started the contest brightly and took an early lead as they crossed over twice in quick succession.

However, Barnet worked their way back into the match and two penalties from Rob Cameron-Staff reduced the deficit.

Elizabethans then went ahead as Ricky Stevens and Lloyd Morgan both scored tries to put the home side 16-10 ahead at the interval.

Imperial dominated the majority of the play in the second period and scored a converted try to lead by one point.

As the game moved into the closing stages, a late rally by Barnet resulted in a try for Glyn Bayley.

Elizabethans saw out the final five minutes to claim victory for the first time in the campaign.

Barnet will look to build on that performance when they travel to Datchworth on Saturday.
