Barnet striker George Sykes has been nominated for League Two apprentice of the year.

Young Barnet striker George Sykes is one of three players on the shortlist for the for the League Two apprentice of the year.

The 18-year-old was playing Sunday league football before joining Barnet at Under-16 level but was top scorer for the Under-18s during the 2011/12 campaign with 24 goals.

Sykes has made two appearances for the Bees this season, against Bristol Rovers in a 1-1 draw and in the 1-0 defeat away at Aldershot Town.
