It was a successful night for Finchley ABC boxers at the London North West Divisional Senior Championships with several fighters securing victories.

Featherweight Mohammed Ghaib produced a stylish display to overcome Shafih Sahak, of Northolt ABC, in a straight final.

Light-heavyweight James Easy faced former junior ABA champion Archie Hutchins in his semi-final. The Finchley fighter bossed the contest and progressed to the final with relative ease.

He took on club-mate Jake Petterson in a well-fought bout. Petterson used his good left jab at range with Easy slipping inside and throwing combinations.

It was even going into the last round but the more determined Easy was the busier of the two and he was declared the winner.

In the Cruiserweight final, Ossie Jervier faced off against All Stars ABC competitor Ryan Charles. Jervier put on a powerful display and controlled all three rounds to seal victory.

An exciting super-heavyweight final saw Dave Abraham complete a win against Gab Chioceioyi of Dale Youth ABC.

Abraham’s left jab did the early damage before a big right hand blow wobbled his opponent. However, he couldn’t capitalise in the opening round.

The second and third rounds saw Abraham dominate with his jab and smother the shorter Chioceioyi when they got in close.

Abraham comfortably did enough to secure victory and he was a popular winner.

Not to be outdone was Finchley’s 2011/12 ABA heavyweight champion and England rep Ben Ileyemi who with no opponents on the evening won his final by a walkover.
