Edgar Davids says he is proud of Jake Hyde and Keanu Marsh-Brown after they received England C call ups
Edgar Davids says he is proud of Jake Hyde and Keanu Marsh-Brown after the duo were selected for the England C squad.
The Bees players will be part of the squad that travel to Latvia next week for a friendly against the hosts’ Under-23s.
Marsh-Brown, who scored in the weekend win against Hyde, and striker Hyde have both impressed this season and Davids said: “I am proud because that means they are doing well. If they are doing well then that means Barnet are doing well.”
Marsh-Brown has represented England at Under-16 and Under17 age groups and he is pleased to be included in the squad.
“It is a nice achievement,” the 21-year-old said. “I’ve been working hard and I think I’ve played well in the first five games.
“I have memories of getting selected for previous age groups, so getting the call up was great.
“So hopefully I can play as well as possible in the game.”
He added: “It will be good opposition to play against and I’ll obviously playing with different players, except for Hydey up top. But I think it will be alright and I’m looking forward to it.”
